Between fifth and sixth century B.C., Buddhism was established, and took over yoga as a means for meditation which existed in ancient India. Therefore Buddhists meditate using yoga.  The aim of meditation is to achieve enlightenment. Enlightenment is an experience of oneself identifying with nature, which Buddha, Jesus, and Mohammed experienced.
Satori(enlightenment) can be stated in other words as escaping from the social confine we human beings made over many generations.  We are bound by the social code, take our social convention for granted.  Satori (or enlightenment) is to find your true self being liberated from these bonds, becoming unified with nature. That is to say, to become aware of our primordially pure DNA.
